Last week, the school visited the exhibition ‘The Slipping Away’ at the Gus Fisher Art Gallery. The seniors enjoyed their outing on Wednesday, and the juniors happily ventured out on Friday.
We loved the mixed media on display in the form of a movie replaying itself in the entrance, the installation of hundreds of lights and plastic bottles, and a very dark room with yet another intriguing movie playing. The session was rounded off by a hands-on experience where we all moulded clay into various creatures and objects.
After some lunch, each class had time to pay a visit to the central library before walking back to the train station. A big but rewarding day!
Eating our snacks in a nearby park Watching the first movie upon arrival Hundreds of lights and plastic bottles to replicate the sea Plastic found at the very depths of our oceans Getting messy at the end of our session! Juniors making sea creatures Walking down the busy street was an experience in itself!
